Titus Adams, from Greeley, Colorado, rides bulls in the CPRA and plans to continue riding in that association. He’s been a member for four years and loves the association. “The CPRA is a great opportunity to get used to high caliber stock and teaches me how to book my trips. It’s great for local people who can’t travel fulltime,” said the 23 year old, who loves to ride bulls. “It’s hard to explain, when you can ride for that 8, you feel like you’re unstoppable.”
He’s ready for another year and plans to add his PRCA card to his CPRA card. “I’ve been training with Kody Lostroh and he has given me training tips to help with riding. I’ve been eating healthier too and I feel great this year.”
Titus works at Northern Beef, hauling cattle, sorting, working cows and fixing fence. “I’m on the road by 4:30 every morning and you could say I’m a glorified ranch hand. I hope to take over my bosses’ job when he retires – he’s the manager of the cattle side.” His wife of almost one year, Dakota, works at the same company as a secretary. They met at a bull riding. “She was there with one of my friends, and I’d known her for four years previous. I helped her get some senior pictures done and next thing you know we started dating and then we got married.”
Titus started riding bulls when he was 16. “I rode sheep and got on a calf, but my parents (Tammy Pickering and Glenn Adams) said I couldn’t get on until I was 16.” He has three little sisters, but nobody rodeos in the family except Titus. “Cody Tesch showed me the proper way, and lots of other guys have helped me along the way.” He rode in an association called At the Foot of Cross and open rodeos – Wild Bunch Bull riding – before joining the CPRA. “My high school didn’t offer any high school rodeos, so I never joined high school rodeo.”
His goal is to get started in the PBR and take it all the way to being a champion. “We’ll see where life takes me. I want to ride up there with the best of them.”
