Levi Vigoren is in his final year of membership in the Utah High School Rodeo Association.
The eighteen year old cowboy, who lives in La Verkin, Utah, competes in the cutting, tie-down roping, team roping, rifle shooting and trap shooting. Of all his events, his favorite is the team roping, where he heels for his sister Emily. They might argue plenty at home, but when they’re roping, they get along pretty well, he says.
Levi is a senior and a student at an online school program. He enjoys learning online, because it gives him more freedom in his schedule, and he can work ahead.
In his spare time, he and his family love to go to nearby Zion National Park, where they hike. He loves the beauty of the cliffs and trails. They often take horses and ride through Confluence Park, which adjoins the family’s property. They used to do a lot of camping, but rodeo schedules don’t allow as many overnight camping trips.
Levi has applied to several colleges and is waiting on replies. He’d like to pursue a career in ag-business.
He has qualified for state finals every year since ninth grade, and has qualified for the National High School Finals in the rifle shooting three years in a row. In 2015, he finished eleventh in the nation in the rifle shooting.
Levi has five younger siblings: Emily, age fifteen, Tres, age thirteen, Jessie, eleven, Melanie, nine, and Lily, seven.
He is the son of Rob and Janice Vigoren.
