R.C. Herrera calls Fernley, Nevada home. R.C. has chased the rodeo trail since he was in the 8th Grade. After high school, R.C. rodeoed for University of Nevada-Reno. He is a second-generation Nevadan that is a huge supporter of sports and continues to work with youth to promote the sport of rodeo. R.C. filled his PRCA permit in one weekend at 18 years old and has never looked back.
R.C. worked for UPS for 20+ years as well as a real estate agent. Both these jobs have allowed R.C. to rodeo throughout the years. R.C. and his wife, Donnia have been married for 28 years and have raised two beautiful daughters, Hadley and Jordan. Both girls chose sports such as basketball, soccer, softball and track over rodeo and they too enjoy hunting as a family when they can. There is no doubt, R.C. loves to compete in the arena but he also has a deep passion for hunting and is extremely proud of both of his girls. R.C. has been a stand out in the arena in the N.S.P.R.A. as well as the P.S.R.A. and continues to attend both association rodeos chasing the next world title.
If you see R.C. down the road you might share some chips and salsa and turn up the ZZ Top, Trace Adkins and Eric Church. You might just get him to play a pickup game of basketball, rope the dummy, and discuss his latest family hunting trip.
Happy Trails—Safe Travels to all cowboys and cowgirls hitting the road this summer from all of us here at the P.S.R.A.
