Meet the Member Case Kohler
story by Ruth Nicolaus
Case Kohler is a hard worker, whatever he is doing. The thirteen year old cowboy, a resident of Roosevelt, Utah, is a bull rider in the Utah Junior High School Rodeo Association.
And whether it’s working or riding bulls, he puts his heart and soul into it.
Case began his career riding steers at the age of ten, then moved to mini bulls, then full-sized bulls. He looks up to his older brother, Cody, also a bull rider, and doesn’t have much fear, his dad, Reggie, says. Case really enjoys watching his brother ride at Rocky Mountain Pro Rodeo Association events.
As an eighth grade student at Roosevelt Junior High School, he loves P.E. and wood shop. In P.E., he likes playing dodge ball, and in wood shop, he’s made puzzles and pens. He plays football and is on his school’s honor roll.
He has a good work ethic, for which is dad is proud of him. Case takes care of the yards of two neighbors, mowing, running the weed eater, trimming trees, and pulling weeds. He often does tasks without being asked. “Anything I need done, I don’t have to ask,” Reggie said. “He sees it needs done and he’ll do it.” His dad is also proud of him because he’s close to earning his Eagle Merit Badge with the Boy Scouts.
Case loves to hunt for mule deer and turkey and fish for trout. He enjoys nearly any outdoor activity. One of his favorite movies is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and one of the best vacations his family has made was to Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota. He has attended several PBRs in Salt Lake City, which were “way fun.” When Case grows up, he’d like to be a bull rider in the PBR. In addition to his brother, he admires PBR world champion J.B. Mauney.
At his dad’s house, Case has a post barrel and a drop barrel, and he likes to practice his bull riding.
In addition to Cody, Case has an older sister, Kaitlee, who is 22 years old.
He is the son of Reggie and Dana Kohler and Jennifer and Shannon Peatross.
