CJRA members have competed at 15 rodeos to secure a spot in the top 15 by money won to be eligible to compete at the CJRA Finals in Lamar July 26-29. Over $150,000 in prizes, prize money and scholarships will be awarded to the top finishers in each event.
The first go round begins Thursday evening, followed by morning and evening performances Friday and Saturday with the final performance Sunday morning. A luncheon and awards ceremony will conclude the weekend activities on Sunday afternoon.
There will be lots of fun activities including Heel-o-Matic jackpots Friday afternoon and a barbeque and street dance hosted by the Prowers County 4-H Foundation Friday evening. The 10th annual Justin Harrington Memorial Goat Roping will take place Friday and Saturday evening following the rodeo performances.
All the contestants and their families will enjoy an afternoon of fun on Saturday. Events include Rodeo Contestant Relays, Mice Races, a Live Auction and Ice Cream Social. Cowboy Church starts at 7:30 a.m. Sunday in the grandstand.
Special thanks to all our rodeo committees and sponsors for making it a great CJRA year!
