With the 2018 Nebraska State Rodeo Association Finals in the books, our association has so many people to thank for contributing to an incredibly successful year. We are so fortunate that our association continues to grow and evolve in so many ways.
Thank you to each and every contestant that purchased their membership this year and supported our association. We look forward to seeing each and every one of you back next year. To all of our contract personnel, thank you for continuing to support the sport of rodeo. We wouldn’t be able to do what we love without your contributions. Thank you to Jill Hudson and Pamela Miller for taking entries for all of the NSRA first-approved rodeos. We are so grateful for your efforts to try to accommodate everyone! To all of the rodeo committees, we appreciate the work you put in to having rodeos for our contestants to compete at. Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.
Thank you to the Cherry County Ag Society for welcoming us back to Valentine again this year and for all of the time and energy put into preparing for finals. We also appreciate all that the Valentine Economic Development Board and Valentine Visitors Bureau did to help make our finals a success. To all of our sponsors, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support of our association. The success of our finals wouldn’t be possible without your generous contributions! We received many compliments about how smooth each performance ran and we have Rick and Reece Weber to thank for their work as arena directors. A huge thank you goes to Missy Weber for organizing the grand entry, performance entertainment, cowboy church, awards banquet, and many other details behind the scenes. Special thank you to Garrett Leonard and Sam Asmus for their hard work leading up to finals and helping with each performance. To every volunteer that helped throughout the weekend, your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. We are so grateful for you.
Tres Rios, thank you for coming up to Valentine to custom measure all of our champions for their saddles! To Robert Joseph and the crew at the Peppermill, thank you for providing your facility, services and delicious food for our calcutta and awards banquet. Niobrara Lodge, thank you for being our host hotel. Thank you to the Lady Wranglers for taking gate money. Special thank you to our queens and princesses for carrying flags during the grand entry and performances, as well as selling raffle tickets. Judy Reece and Eve Millar, thank you for guiding those young ladies and organizing their involvement throughout the weekend. We had a beautiful cowboy church service on Sunday morning, thanks to Rusty & Cherie Kluender, as well as Bobbi Walters.
The funds for our Cowboy Crisis Fund grew significantly over the week, so thank you to everyone that purchased raffle tickets to support such a great cause. Thank you to the family of June Holeman for allowing us the opportunity to honor the impact she left on so many throughout her life. Last but not least, thank you to every person that came out and watched each performance! We hope you enjoyed watching our athletes compete for prize money, buckles, and saddles! This has been a great year and we are already looking forward to 2019!
Sincerely,
Andy Miller, President
