The Annual “Wild Ride”

Written by: Siri Stevens

< Back to Articles

We don’t often have the opportunity to report on bronc riding and tell you the human contestant winner was Mrs. Doubtfire. Such was the outcome in the annual “Wild Ride” that caps the night competition at 62nd Ropin’ & Riggin’ Days Rodeo in Casper, WY. The college rodeo concludes with a Sunday championship round of actual events featuring student-athletes from Wyoming, Colorado and western Nebraska.
Teams let down (or do up) their hair every year come Saturday night and put a lot of effort into their costumes. Mrs. Doubtfire ( Mason Mardesich) representing Otero Junior College faced stiff challenges from the likes of Batman and Mr. Kangaroo. For the latter we’ve included a subtitle since the University of Wyoming freshman, Kolt Ferguson, in that role is actually Australian.
